As the creative force behind Nyon Kpee, Una integrates the vibrant legacy of traditional African textiles with the intricate beauty of crochet, and the dynamic flair of Western fashion.
At Nyon Kpee, our approach is not merely about creating; it's about honouring our heritage while boldly imagining our future.
Let me take you behind the scenes of how this editorial came to life. It all began with my acquaintance, Nifemi Ashani, who I affectionately called Olu, a Yoruba word that translates to "God" in English. Olu is a talented fashion stylist, and our paths crossed online a few years ago, if my memory serves me right. We struck up a virtual friendship, meeting for coffee and discussing the idea of collaborating on a project.
As time went by, the stars aligned, and the perfect opportunity presented itself. Olu reached out to me, asking if I was finally ready to work together. Without a doubt, I was more than ready and excited about the prospect. The timing couldn't have been better. I was in the final stages of completing my "See But Don't Touch" Collection, and I had some exquisite pieces that begged to be showcased. Collaborating with Olu on this project was a dream come true.
Our exceptional team for this editorial included the talented
